Most practices have a patient participation group (PPGs). This is a selection of patients and practice staff who meet at regular intervals to decide ways of making a positive contribution to the services and facilities offered by the practice to the patients.
Every PPG is unique, evolving to meet local needs. Most commonly, they work with their practices to offer the patient perspective on the services that are provided. PPGs also help to improve communication, encourage patients to take more responsibility for their own health and to provide practical support.
In addition there is a Locality Patient Group (LPG), called South Eastern Hampshire LPG, at which each PPG from across the area is invited to have a representative member. This group provides the opportunity to ensure that the valuable suggestions and feedback from the PPGs are shared with the CCG.
If you’d like to join or find out more about the PPG at your GP Practice please ask you practice manager.
