The new GP surgery for Emsworth – a progress report
30 October 2020

NHS South Eastern Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group has produced a short film to update the community on progress on the new GP surgery for Emsworth.

Construction work started last January and is due to be completed in late March 2021 on the site of the former Victoria Cottage Hospital in the town centre – a stone’s throw from the existing GP surgery.

The film includes brief interviews with contractors Mountjoy and Dr Abu Chinwala – a GP partner at Emsworth, and an introduction from Sara Tiller, the CCG’s managing director.

It is available via the Emsworth page on the CCG website by clicking here or directly via this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGLDkLasAiE

The £3.5m scheme includes the demolition of single-storey outbuildings, a new rear single-storey extension to the main building, installing a new lift shaft, reconfiguring rooms within the surgery and internal and external decorations.

For years GPs, staff and patients have struggled to cope on their cramped existing site.
